The nonprofit Philadelphia Police Foundation will hold its inaugural fundraising event, a lively celebrity-filled salute entitled “A Night for Blue,” to pay tribute to Philadelphia’s Police Department and to present the first-ever Founder’s Award to Philadelphia civic icon John Binswanger on Tuesday, April 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Ballroom at the Ben, 834 Chestnut St. in center city Philadelphia.

Sponsorships are available now by contacting the Foundation at admin@phillypolicefoundation.org.  Individual tickets and Sponsorships will also be available soon on our website at https://phillypolicefoundation.org/a-night-for-blue/.

A Night for Blue will provide funding for the Philadelphia Police Foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide equipment, programs and training for the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department not included in the city’s current budget. Founded in 1999, the PPF has raised several million dollars to provide equipment, technology, training and scholarships for children of Philadelphia police officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.

Co-Chairs for the event are Frank Binswanger, Brad Korman, Carol McC. Fitzgerald, Pat O’Connor and Bill Sasso, the latter two were original leaders of the Foundation. John Binswanger was a founder of the Foundation and continues to serve on the Board.

“John Binswanger has for many years worked tirelessly on behalf of the Philadelphia Police Foundation to help keep the men and women of the police department equipped and trained to enhance their effectiveness in providing safety and security for the citizens of Philadelphia,” said Maureen S. Rush, PPF Board President. “We are thrilled to honor John Binswanger for his vison and dedication to the city of Philadelphia and most especially to the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department.”

Those participating in A Night for Blue will include Mayor Kenney, Police Commissioner Richard Ross, Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle and two-time Pro Bowl selection Fletcher Cox, emcee Erin O’Hearn of 6ABC-TV, the Joanna Pascale Quartette, specialized police units, and more.

The historic Ballroom at the Ben will be the perfect setting for a fun evening filled with great networking opportunities, delicious food, libations and music – all while honoring our friend John Binswanger and raising funds for the Philadelphia Police Department.
