Visual and Social Media Equipment and Training
The Department’s Audio Visual, Graphic Arts and Public Affairs/Social Media units help shape and feed the voice of the department. Internally, these Organizational Communications Units, the Web Editor, and Director of Communications produce visual training materials that demonstrate proper ways for department members to safely and properly conduct procedures and carry out policy while doing their jobs. Externally, these teams produce visual, audible and written content that is used to alert, inform and engage people the department serves. This digital content focus ranges from member profiles, PPD partnerships and initiatives, to Commissioner’s podcasts, audience focused social media posts and website content.
The people charged with crafting this content need updated cameras, computers, software and professional training to create content that engages our internal and external audiences with the kind of professional quality people are now accustomed.
