Market Street Run For Blue

The inaugural Market Street “Run for Blue” Presented by Wawa is Philadelphia’s newest fall tradition. You’ve had a chance to participate in the Broad Street Run, now is your chance to run or walk the Market Street loop, from the Delaware River to the Schuylkill River, in support of the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department. Start in historic Old City just a stone’s throw from the Delaware River and run 2.5 miles along Market Street to the shadow of 30th Street Station above the mighty Schuylkill River; looping back to the start/finish line to complete 5 miles. Sign up today at to embrace this unique and fun new run or walk experience through a most iconic stretch of Philadelphia’s historic area and Center City’s business district.

Purpose of the Event:
The Market Street ‘Run for Blue’ presented by Wawa is a fund-raiser for the Philadelphia Police Foundation and a competitive or fun run/walk experience for all participants. The Philadelphia Police Department will also host a “Police and Community Family Festival” post-run that will feature displays, exhibits and meetings with the SWAT Team, Aviation Unit, Mounted Unit, Marine Unit, Highway Patrol and more.

Day-of-Event Registration and Race Festival will take place at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing (101 S. Columbus Blvd.). Race will begin in Old City near 2nd and Market Streets. Ample parking will be available in the Penn’s Landing area and throughout Old City.



Race Day Schedule

6:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. Pre-Race Music, Day of Registrations, Bib Pick Up and Final Preparations
7:45 a.m. – Pre-Race Program – Moment of Silence – Police Commissioner Richard Ross, Official Race Starter
8:00 a.m. — Race Begins
9:30 a.m. – Course Closes from West end of Market Street moving East.
10 a.m. – Entire Course is closed (course open no longer than 2 hours)
9:00 a.m. – 12 Noon – ‘Police and Community Family Festival’ at Great Plaza
