2025 Founders Award

We will present Leo, Tom, and Michael Holt and Holt Logistics Corporation with the 2025 Founders Award for their unwavering support of the Philadelphia Police Foundation and the women and men in blue.

As leaders in the Philadelphia business community, the Holt Family has transformed the Port of Philadelphia over the course of many decades in the logistics industry. The Holt Family’s efforts to grow the business of the Port of Philadelphia has impacted the regional community for four generations and positioned the Delaware River as the premier transport destination for many millions of tons of industrial and consumer products.

Giving back to Philadelphia – the world-class city that they helped to put on the map – is a key value for Tom, Leo and Michael Holt. Through philanthropy and volunteerism, Holt supports a myriad of nonprofit organizations throughout the Philadelphia region, including the Philadelphia Police Foundation (PPF). For more than 10 years, the Holt Family has been a leading supporter of PPF’s funding priorities, which include reducing the gun violence epidemic, enhancing Officer mental health and wellness, supporting training at all levels of the PPD, and providing engagement opportunities between the Philadelphia Police and the youth of the city.

With their commitment to improving public safety, the Holts are true ambassadors for the Philadelphia Police Foundation and the Philadelphia Police Department.

Extraordinary Acts of Courage Award

We will posthumously honor Philadelphia Police Sergeant Jaime Roman with the Extraordinary Acts of Courage Award. Sgt. Roman was tragically killed in the line of duty, having been shot during a traffic stop on June 22nd, 2024. He remained hospitalized until he succumbed on September 10th, 2024. Sgt. Roman was just two weeks away from celebrating his seventh anniversary with the 25th District when he was taken from his wife, son, family, and friends. Sgt. Roman will always be remembered for his bravery as a police officer and his commitment as a devoted family man and friend. He will never be forgotten.

A Message from Our President

As the Philadelphia Police Foundation (PPF) proudly celebrates the 9th annual Night for Blue, we reflect on our challenges and achievements over the past year while looking forward to a bright future. Under the leadership of Mayor Cherelle Parker and Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel, Philadelphia is experiencing measurable improvements in public safety, with significant reductions in homicides and major crimes. Whether through support for law enforcement drones, technology to increase efficiency and capabilities for the Homicide Unit, or mental health and wellness programs for the women and men in blue, PPF is pleased to play a role in this progress.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals, businesses, and community organizations across the Philadelphia region, PPF funds a myriad of technology, equipment, and initiatives that enhance the safety and effectiveness of our Philadelphia Police Department (PPD). When you see Philadelphia Police Officers working to keep the community safe – at sporting events, protests, parades, and emergencies – please know that because of your support, we have their backs.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our Board of Directors, Night for Blue Sponsors, and Co-Chairs for your support. Thank you also to our 2025 Founders Award Recipients, Leo, Tom, and Michael Holt with Holt Logistics Corporation, for your remarkable generosity and steadfast support of the brave officers of the PPD. And, finally, we mourn and honor this year’s Extraordinary Acts of Courage Award recipient, Sergeant Jaime Roman and his family, for the ultimate sacrifice he made for all of us.

Together, we are making a real difference for the citizens, visitors, and workers in the City of Philadelphia!

More About The Police Foundation's Night for Blue

The PPF’s mission is to help ensure transparent, equitable and excellent policing for everyone. The organization helps Philadelphia Police ensure and enhance the safety of every Philadelphian from every Neighborhood. Night for Blue is by far our most significant fundraising vehicle and has helped the PPF provide funding for critical equipment, advanced technology, youth initiatives and programs and innovative training that is outside the City’s budget.

A Night for Blue is a dynamic, festive and inspiring 2-hour networking event, with a silent and live auction, all in support of the unbudgeted needs of the Philadelphia Police Department. There may not be a more challenging profession in our country today than being a police officer in a major city, and therefore, with all that has transpired over the past two (2) years.

Over the past two (2) years individuals, businesses, and foundations have generously contributed nearly $2 million dollars to underwrite critical but unbudgeted priorities.

Thank you to all who joined us and a special thanks to all who donated!
