Our Deepest Sympathies

March 21, 2022

Today (March 21) we mourn the lives of two courageous PA State Troopers, Troopers Branden T. Sisca, 29 years old, one year veteran, and Martin F. Mack, 33 years old, and an 8 year veteran. We also morn the life of the unidentified civilian driver who the troopers were assisting. Their lives were cut short in a crash on Interstate 95 near the South Philadelphia exit early this morning.

This tragic incident illustrates the danger present every day for law enforcement officers. Stopping vehicles and assisting motorist on interstates is very dangerous, due to the unknowns within the vehicle, and the increasing recklessness of drivers who violate the ‘pull to the left lane’ regulations.

On behalf of the Philadelphia Police Foundation Board, we are sending a letter to Colonel Robert Evanchick, State Police Commissioner, expressing our deep felt condolences to the entire PA State Police Family. If the PPF becomes aware of ways we can assist the families and the department, we will do so. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming.

Thank you to all our friends, donors and supporters for your unwavering support of the PPD officers and all Law Enforcement officers who put their lives on the line daily in service to their communities.

With heavy hearts,

The Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Police Foundation
